How wide should a ukulele strap be?

There should be internationally agreed standards for ukulele straps. I suggest following the established soprano, concert and tenor subdivisions. But let's not have any nonsense like soprano width straps of concert length.

I like my ukulele straps soft—glove leather backed with cloth—and 1/2" to 1" in width. Comfy and I can leave it installed while the instrument is stowed in the case. I've had to toss out a few straps—some sort of poly web or polyester—because the material caused a rash on my neck.

Thank you to everyone for your feedback! I've ordered myself a strap! My next question is on strap buttons which is the subject of a different thread.

I'm currently using a $12 2" wide Fender tweed guitar strap that I took off one of my guitars. It works well enough that I'm not seeking out a different strap. It has small amounts of metal on it but they're mostly covered and I haven't yet had a problem with any hard parts contacting my ukulele.
