Gluing back braces- this subject is a guitar but the methods are all the same for uke.

Is this a common problem? The only Matin I ever worked on had loose back braces. '73 and the era that followed was notorious for Martin company losing its way, overbuilding and making schoolboy error like this. I could say more but I don't want to speak ill of one of my heroes who is now dead.

I re glue many Martin back braces in my area.
I think Maton (form Australia) now tuck their back braces into the linings.

I think it's must also be something to do with the widespread industry practice of vacuum clamping. I've not seen their gluing process but I'll bet my last dollar it's right there in the gluing application.
