    Cherry Uke.jpg

I just remembered that I built this one too (my brain and memory seem to have gone to mush lately). Cherry top, back and sides. Cherry and Maple neck. Turns out, this is my most recently finished uke and the other one I posted was one of my first. So... I guess it's easy to see that I'm a pretty big fan of cherry wood. I'd say that cherry and walnut are a couple of my favorites to work with. I do build primarily with domestic woods though, so I haven't tried many of the more traditional tropical hardwoods.

One builder who seems to use cherry a bit is LoPrinzi. This one sounds good to me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AUDlfO4-uQ
