hi folks

this week is a tribute to one of our most beloved forum members
and the wonderful week of music he hosted in

SEASON 332

the idea is to start w/ a song beginning w/ the letter A
and work your way through the alphabet. so your second song would
start w/ the letter B and so-on...

i remember it was a super fun week as people challenged themselves
to get as far towards Z as they could and it brought out a wide variety
of songs, styles and musical genres.

so if you really have a hankering to play a particular song beginning
w/ the letter G, then sure thing...you just have to play 6 songs beforehand. :)

usual guidelines and time frames apply.

hope you enjoy the season everyone playing music
and remembering Randy who brought us all so much joy.

Funnily enough, Randy’s original alphabet season was mentioned during this evening’s Zoom session! Great idea, Jon - and a lovely tribute to a super guy whose warmth, spirit, talent and humour encapsulated everything that we all love about the Seasons. :)

You beat me to the punch! What are the odds of that happening :)

Should be a fun week Jon, thanks for hosting!

That last time Randy did this, it was like a demolition derby and the Boston Marathon rolled into one week. I remember Rex, Ralf, <TCK>, Trent, (and others?) racing around that 26 song course and starting to lap around the others doing number songs.

I probably didn't get past the first letter!

Geeze, BEV, Alan, Big Daddy, Pa, Wim, so many others....what a monster!

Good Luck Everybody! (Especially Jon!)

Golly! Well, last time I managed to cover the whole alphabet in one song ... now I've done that, I'll have to stick to one letter at a time. Hopefully, I'll get past "A." A nice way to remember, Randy, but, as Christopher says, good luck to you, Jon!

A: "A, You're Adorable"

This one starts with A and covers the whole alphabet.

E: "Eve of Destruction" - Barry McGuire

Written in 1965. If that was the eve, I guess this must be the countdown to the ball drop.

F: "From a Distance" - Julie Gold, Bette Midler

After that E, I needed a little soothing. This song is kind of a gentler way of saying the same thing.

Five and a half years ago I did this:

Nathan wouldn't agree to sit on my lap for take two but instead he decided to be cameraman.

Sweet Emma Barrett song

ain't gonna give nobody none of my jellyroll
I wouldn't give you a piece of this cake not to save your soul!
My mama told me today Before she went away
"Emma be a good little girl" She'd put my hair up in a curl
I didn't know you for you to keep on hanging around
I know you want it I've gotta turn you down
My jellyroll is sweet, and it can't be beat
I know you want it, but you can't have it
Ain't gonna give you none my jelly roll
I ain't gonna give nobody none of my jellyroll

All Cried Out - Alison Moyet

I haven't posted anything for a few weeks so this looks like the perfect week to catch up!

Some time last year Limousin Lil hosted a Season where I was going to post this song, but I injured my thumb and was out of action for about 6 months. Now that it's all better, here it is Lil! Enjoy.

Thanks for hosting, Jon!

Man...if I was still furloughed then I'd definitely be skipping meals and forgoing sleep and I'd be pretty confident about my chances of banging out all 26. Unfortunately, pesky work responsibilities are going to severely curtail the fun.

But here's a start...
