Brave - any burn-in between coats? Website is vague on composition - you state 'waterborne nitro..' What does it say on the can because if this is nitro it cannot be shipped worldwide except in explosion proof containers. From the website
All CrystaLac Top Coats will bond to the prior coat.
I also think you are being a bit dramatic Beau. Your exposure to VOC's is small if you are just spraying a few instruments at a time. And if it is any encouragement, I had a full lung x-ray recently and after spraying, often without a mask for over 16 years my lungs were clear, remarkably so! And as I have suggested to you - it is in fact cheaper and safer to outsource spraying to a specialist shop.
Pete, I've finished a number of instruments with Brite Tone and have found that it buffs out very nicely without witness lines. I can't say the same for other water based products that I've tested. This video probably doesn't have sufficient resolution to convince skeptics but you get the drift.
You are fortunate Pete. Some of us have lungs that are acutely sensitive to impurities in the air and take a long time to recover.
When your lungs aren't working properly you can miss out on many of the joys of life.
