I have a Kanilea K-1 that I love. It has a beautiful sound. Everyone, even with more expensive custom ukes, loves its sound but I don’t play it much. It has a few minor nicks here and there. I only would consider selling if I could get a decent price. Basically I only play bass and my Pono electric baritone. I’m a bass player, singer and songwriter who also plays rhythm.

Can anyone give me an idea of what I should ask? Great hard case. I could use the money to purchase a few luxuries. I hate to let it go but I’m not a collector by nature. I like to use what I have.

If it is a standard (not Deluxe or Premium) K-1 tenor, I’d estimate $700-$800, depending on how worn it looks. I’m assuming it is several years old, gloss, and not the latest TRU-R bracing.

A good rule of thumb is 2/3 of your original cost for an instrument in great shape. Adjust that up or down depending on age and condition. Higher-end instruments hold their value better.
