Have you put a strap pinon the side of the heel of a koaloha uke, tenor? The neck seems different, thinner, than others and I don't want to mess up. Suggestions?
I haven't added them to KoAlohas, but if you angle the screw toward the body, it should be okay. I've seen them with straps, so it is possible. See what others have to say.

I have neck heel strap pins on all of my ukes except for my KoAloha Concert. The way the heel is carved just doesn't seem to have enough meat to take a strap pin screw. For that one, I tie the top of the strap to the headstock.

I could probably use a screw about half the normal length, but then I'd be worried about pulling it out. This uke is small and very light, so I'm not concerned about putting too much strain on the headstock.
I have a strap button on the heel of a KoAloha concert. It was installed by HMS. I put strap buttons on a Romero Creations ST Concert. The neck heel on that uke is also thin, very similar to the KoAloha. Just be sure the screw length and insertion angle are appropriate for the thickness & shape of the wood.
Or take it to a professional if you're not comfortable doing it yourself. Strap button installation doesn't cost much.
