I know I am late to this conversation, but I love my Pono steel string! You are correct that it gives you an acoustic guitar sound while still having a ukulele playing experience.

This is a question that gets asked from time to time. First off it will not effect the sound of the instrument. Look at all the guitar players with $3000 - $7000 Martins and Gibson and Taylor’s and Collings etc with strap buttons and a strap for playing.

I have a strap and strap buttons on everyone of my instruments listed below. It allows me to play better, some people dont need a strap, I do.

So I did it! Bought the UL4-4 Rosewood/Cedar Pono steel string baritone! After much deliberation, I did decide to have them install the strap buttons. The next several days/couple weeks will seem like forever as I wait for its arrival!!

We've finally found my replacement here at work, so looks like a February 2021 retirement!! Lots more time for music making! WooHoo!!!

THANK YOU ALL for your generous help.

Hey congratulations on the new Pono and your upcoming retirement. The Pono is a wonderful instrument that will scratch that “steel string” itch very nicely
