The tempo is rather peppy for a march. Did you speed it up a little, or is that the original tempo? Just curious...

I found several old videos of the Sports March on YouTube, and yes, as you say, the original tempo is definitely faster than a regular march. It feels more like a running march than a walking march. Which - given the song’s name - would be appropriate, as the quicker tempo would be well-suited to athletes-in-training. :-)
The tempo you played sounded just right to me — jaunty, but not exhausting. :-)
