Default Not a ukulele.....Using up some off cuts

A mate asked me to build him a fancy box to store some rather expensive whiskey glasses. I had a look at the glasses and decided I better get a set myself and build 2 boxes.

Was a fun project that actually takes far more time than I would have anticipated at the start. Good to use up some of the offcuts from previous instruments that were just to nice to toss in the bin. Carcass is Blackwood from Queensland. The lid and base inlay is Blackwood from Victoria.

Very nice Allen, and a great way of using those offcuts, and a great idea for Xmas presents. I'll have see what I've got lying about.
    Cheers Mike.

Very nice. I think you might consider these as a side line. Sell them with the bottle of whiskey included and get the whiskey maker to market them... I think Beau Hannon used to make boxes to sell from his off-cuts. When you think about it, ukes are really just curvy boxes that make noise.

I'd like to inspect this set and test it out next time I visit Cairns.
