Hello, I recently purchased a hollow-body tenor steel string uke and am enjoying the sound while plugged into a Vox MINI 3.
Has anyone tried the new Spark amp?

Steel string instruments into amplifiers is very specialised niche around here although there are a few players. To be honest you would be better off reading reviews of guitar amplifiers in guitar circles.
I play a couple of steel string ukuleles into a Fender Mustang Floor amp or through computer simulations. Guitar reviews are perfectly relevant to a steel string ukulele.

I got a Spark amp for Xmas and have been using both a steel string uke (Fanning) and a standard string uke (Godin) with it. I've had it for a couple of weeks.

First of all, it is REALLY fun. Tons of different setups you can use. Direct USB output to use with a DAW. I even took a brief look the capability of getting the chords out of any song on Spotify - certainly looks OK, although I haven't thrown any of my longtime puzzling songs at it.

You can also modify any of the parameters on any of the amp models or pedals. You can do it on a phone, but a tablet makes it easier.

As far as the sounds go, it sounds somewhere between good and great. Some of the setups are obviously for guitars, in the sense they have a lot of distortion, etc., but I have found about 10 that I love already.

One caveat in this positive review is that I have only used it into my DAW or with headphones so far, so I can't comment on how well it does as a practice/playing app.

Spark amp---interesting. Relatively a new comer to the amp world but had this been available a few years back when I was looking for an amp I might have bought this. For home use, practice, small venue the Spark looks promising. Looks like it has only one input. So much modeling available to service both an electric and acoustic sound. It's not a tube amp that is for sure, but is sure has a lot of features that make it interesting.

Sad... I had to Google DAW! Thanks for the input. Need to try and sell something to generate funds for this...

I agree - really interested.

Surfing the interwebs today checking out gear review.........I'd proceed with caution on this amp for now......fair number of negative comments out there....search the guitar centered forums...you'll find 'em......sure people have their opinions.....but the one I liked best was when they are sold through Sweetwater and Guitar Center then you'll know they are legit.....take from that as you will...

Yes, I also noticed most of the YouTube reviews were generated upon receiving one to test. One guy bought his own to review, but it took six months to receive his order even though they charged him up front. So the first part of the review was discussing that. He did find the amp surprisingly realistic though.
