I can't find the topic where people were discussing getting better tone by moving the uke off of your body, as much as possible and it reminded me of the Tonegard for mandolins, where I found out they are very expensive and the guy doesn't make custom Ukegards anymore, which got me to search for a DIY solution, which I found easy enough on google and I just adapted it to fit a Ukulele and I came up with this:

I made it with 2 hangers (with the cardboard tubes removed) a bit of electrical tape, some channellocks, a small amount of fabric to cover the tape, needle and thread.

Works like a charm.

In a few threads someone had some photos of a custom Ukegard and I was wondering how much money I saved?

Anyone else made one of these?

Very cool idea.

I try to hold my tenors at about a 30 degree angle out away from me with the tail end against the side of my belly. And the neck angle at 45 degrees upwards.

I play with a strap as well.

That looks like a pretty ingenious setup! Now, if you could get a patent on it, I bet it might sell.
