I'm a retired school educator. A Principal for my last 15 years. I've been a guitar player since I was 14. Now almost 72 and getting quite a bit of arthritis in my hands. Had a little soprano uke that I had bought for my wife and started messing around with it. What fun, plus my darling, almost 2 year old grand daughter, loves it when Pa Pa plays his "Tar."

Just order a Kala Bamboo Tenor for a little more finger room and can't wait to get it.

Thanks for including me. I will be going through the threads to learn all I can.

Hey Marlinhof, welcome to the UU Forum.

I'll be 70 this September, and I understand the arthritis issue. I get my actions set as low as I can. I also play fluorocarbon strings instead of Nylon because the thinner, more bendy strings seem to be easier on my fingers.

Enjoy your bamboo tenor. I've read good things about it. And have fun entertaining your granddaughter.

Welcome to the forums. I also can empathize with the arthritis issues. I find arpeggio warmups help. (Plus Aspercreme.)

Welcome to UU, Marlinhof!

I wish you lots of happy moments with your uke and your granddaughter!
