I got a Donner concert ukulele (starter kit $70) and it sounds terrific!
 
THe first uke I bought was a Donner DUT-3. It was cheap, but now it's got lots of emotional value. Currently my high G tenor.
 
One of my student bought a Donner. based on the reviews. She loves hers.

Well, congrats! You and beautiful Betty have a lot ahead of you. Disappointments and triumphs, laughter and tears, and oh so many memories. Both the ones you're making now, and the ones conjured up from the past by the music you play. It's a wonderful thing.
 
Way to go BT212! May you and Betty spend many fun hours together. You know, we never forget our first.
 
Congrats! Recently I went back to look at my first post on these forums. Such a great time and I wish I could go back when I first got it. Don't take your first weeks of playing for granted.
