I know UAS is a thing, I'm trying to not succumb to it. I know I likely won't play more than one or two, and don't want to clutter the house with them.
I've had an empty uke hook on my wall since December when I gave my tenor to my sister. Decided that I much prefer playing the concert scale.
I came very close to dropping $200 on something yesterday. But, I came across an open-box Waterman soprano for $30 shipped. I like the idea of having one of those around just as something to take anywhere and not worry about, kinda wanted to try one.
Plus, it's a soprano, which I've also been wanting to try. And it gives me something to string up with reentrant tuning without having to restring my "daily player" Low G concert.
So, it checks a lot of boxes for me. I know it won't be a great instrument, but it will at least let me play with the soprano scale, and High G, and if I ever want to take a ukulele... anywhere... I'm covered!
With this, I'll have played with all of the standard sizes. Played with a friend's baritone for a few days a long time ago. Way too big. Played a tenor for more than a few years before deciding to try a concert. Now I'm dipping my feet in the soprano end of the pool.
