Those who know banjo ukes will recognize the Gibson UB-2 as one of the crown jewels of banjolele-dom. Unlike its little brother the UB-1, the UB-2 has the same 8" head as the more tricked out (and much pricier) styles 3 and 4, and boasts all the volume and tone of its fancier siblings. This specimen dates from around 1923-26 (as best as I can determine), and is in fantastic condition with a real skin head, removable resonator and original hardware, including Grover barrel tuners with black buttons.
This nearly 100 year old Gibson has a loud, rich voice with great depth of tone. The set up is excellent with easy playability. Gibson really earned their reputation when it came to banjo ukuleles and this uke showcases their expertise.
Comes with a very nice modern hardshell case that fits the uke like a glove and a quality, leather strap.
This uke is a firecracker, and I am sure the new owner will be very happy with it. It doesn't get any more rankety-spankety than this!
