Update 23 MAR- tried to edit my post and it was erased, not sure if it’s an iPad problem or website issue. Will try and remember what was written on original post.

For sale is an Ono “Wahoo” Tenor with Adirondack Spruce top and Amazon Rosewood back and sides. Truly an amazing ukulele with impeccable attention to detail. I’ve had a Collings UT2K and Kanile’a (Aldrine Signature) (both sold on this forum) and this Ono surpasses both in many areas.

Features:
- #73 “Wahoo” model with Slotted Headstock/Rubner Tuners w/ Rosewood Buttons
- Adirondack Spruce Top
- Amazon Rosewood Back and Sides (truly an amazing set!)
- Ebony Fretboard, Bridge, Faceplate, and binding
- EVO Gold frets
- Bone nut 1.5”/bone saddle
- 18” Tenor scale
- String-Through bridge
- Radius/Cantilevered Fret board (extends over top)
- Soundport
- Currently strung with TI CF27 for C string and Aquila’s (high G)- but slightly extended scale is perfect for lower tunings. Will include a TI CF30 string for Low G.
- Ko’olau/Pono hard case
- No electronics

David Ingalls (Ono ukes) did install a patch of cross-grained Adirondack to reinforce a finish “flaw”, but it was not a crack. Please see his below explanation - Thanks David!

No longer available-thanks!

Apologies on title, should read “Ono 18” “Wahoo” Tenor, Adirondack/Amazon Rosewood. Second attempt to submit and it still cut it off. Luckily I saved what I wrote this time. Thanks for looking!

To make sure that anyone who might be interested in this instrument has a complete understanding of the "flaw", I looked up what I wrote to the first buyer. Here it is:

When the first coats of lacquer were applied, the finish sank slightly along the faint dark line. I believe that this is a very small void along a grain line. It doesn’t seem to be crack. Wood will sometimes do things that we don’t like but most problems that appear during a build can be fixed one way or another. I could have removed and replaced the top but that isn’t without risk. The problem is only cosmetic, not structural, and is slight enough that I won’t mind having it out in the world after complete disclosure. If it were ugly, that would be different.

The repair was approached from both the top and bottom of the plate. Luckily, the flaw happened to fall in the small triangular area bounded by the side, the heel block and the upper top brace and was easily accessible through the sound port. The underside got a cross-grain Adirondack patch that should make that area quite strong. The top was sanded back to wood and the flaw flooded with thin CA to fill and stabilize any small void that might have existed, though nothing could be seen even under magnification.

I am the first buyer and I sold the uke as I have moved away from super tenors (also sold my tinguitar for the same reason, posted in marketplace). I liked the ukulele except for the scale and since then I have 2 ukes on order with Ono and would highly recommend this uke to experience the sound and quality of an Ono ukulele. If super tenors are of interest, this is a great uke!

Outstanding instrument. Beautiful looks, beautiful sound. Beautiful workmanship. Plus an ideal wood combination. I had the opportunity to play one of David's Wahoo 18" tenors and it was a great experience.

I really like the cantilevered fretboard. The last 4 frets and tail float above the soundboard to allow more area to vibrate freely.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and support of how great this uke is. And thanks to David for clarifying the “flaw”, which it isn’t! Adding a few more photos- feel free to email for larger files/more detailed photos. Also, nut is 1.5”. Thanks for looking!

A question was asked about the case- it’s the wooden Ko’olau/Pono case- perfect fit
