Kevin's ukuleles just get better and better. #168 arrived yesterday and it is impressive. Clear crisp tones with the usual bright trebles that mahogany can produce.
The fully bound body is beautiful and very cleanly done...fret work is as good as it gets.
They are great value for the money.

Thread Topic: ".... mahogany baritone" got me excited. Then what is shown? A spruce top baritone. No offense but, to me, a hog baritone means all hog, not the ever-present spruce top. I am not a spruce fan when it comes to baritones. I mean, I get a hog baritone because I want a deeper, mellower sound for playing with groups, right -- but then I get one with a spruce top on it? Why would I do that? To make it brighter and less mellow? Nyet! Might as well get a super tenor instead.

just got #218 and the quality and value continue to be off the charts. beautiful workmanship with huge voice. All solid maple and redwood on this one with a fully bound body. Kevin has upgraded to 18 to 1 Grover tuners which work well but I had a set of white knob Waverlys laying around.
At about 1/3 the going rate on something from the islands, and equal or superior in tone and volume, it's an easy decision.
