I got a book from the library by Jan Mohr dealing with open tunings on guitar,
and I decided to tune the Uke to D-modal ( or there abouts ) 5525
so the chords would have slightly different voicings and the fingering
for the chords completely different for C G D and Em

Found the song "Since I laid my burden down" on Roger McGuinn's Folk Den...
he has about 25 old time spirituals there. The link for
the Folk Den I got from Brother Sonny who does the most wonderful Sunday skiffle

Here is my D-modal version of Burden down not as fancy as yours which by the way was excellent
