Vintage Martin ukuleles...

There are 3 clues other than the bar frets. Fret marker size (small/large), tuners, and headstock decal (small/large). All are addressed in "the book". None I suppose are definitive if one wants to use the same argument as with the frets. From the photo the uke does have the small (ukulele size) decal, and assuming it has small fret dots it most likely was produced "somewhere" between 1934 and 1945.
The book addresses the fret wire fairly on page 124. It explains that Martin ordered T fret wire in 1934 for their guitars (which is larger wire). IMHO it is possible that Martin Co. history may have been applied as general information to Martin ukuleles in error. Just my interpretation.
