Hi everyone! I'm new here so hopefully this is the right place. I'm searching for a Ken Timms Soprano so if you guys see anything out there online, please feel free to lete know. Nothing on ebay at the moment.

Thank you!

There’s one here. Not new and not cheap but available and with upgraded tuners. Not sure what postage to the states will be but I suggest an email asking what can be done.

The price quoted on the website will include local taxes (say 1/6th of the sticker price) but in theory they are not applicable to exported items. If he does not already remove those taxes then suggest to the supplier that they investigate here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/vat-on-goods-exported-from-the-uk-notice-703

Their terms and conditions say that customers outside the UK should contact them for prices without VAT. Essentially, you can cut 20% off the price if you live outside the UK but then of course you need to factor in any import costs.

I'll give them an email and see what they say. I appreciate the help!

I hope that something good comes out of this for you. The Uke Room owner is a long time member here, from his you tube content it’s clear that he’s an expert player too. If his email response is slow then he has a Facebook page too so there are other routes to him. Like many other business people he doubtless has multiple different demands on his time so his response to you might not be instantaneous - he’s probably closed over the weekend too so a bit of patience might be needed.
Good luck.

Really appreciate it. If anything I can always wait until Ken Timms puts out more on ebay and hope for the best. Even with possibly 20% off by getting rid of VAT, that is still mid 600 US. Everyone said the quality is amazing though.

Ken Timms makes great ukuleles. However, pricing went way up after they got a great review in gotaukulele.com. Now they sell for more than a new Opio or a used Koaloha, both of which I think are better values (IMHO) as well as being easier to buy.

Well you might well have a point and many other folk here could also have suggested good alternatives, however the OP was quite clear in what he was looking for ... Price wise Timms are both expensive and a very well made bargain that sounds really good, the market decides what the price is and if you want one then that’s the price that you’ll pay - well that or someone else will have it instead of you.

The instrument on offer at the Uke Room looks like a nice example to me, the shop’s owner is an experienced trader with both comparable and rather more expensive instruments in stock - a fantastic range for the discerning buyer. He’ll know what the instrument is worth: he specialises in and sells a lot of Ukes. Of course prices for new and pre-owned Timms vary a little, but the Timms on offer is in stock and all that is required to guarantee a purchase now is to accept the (IMHO reasonable) sticker price - current availability and a guaranteed purchase of a short supply item has a value too.

Thanks for all the nice comments re: The Uke Room. I was away this week so just catching up. Sadly I’ve had to let the OP know we can’t ship this one to the States purely because I’m selling it on consignment for a customer. The taxes and returns just make it too difficult for me. Last time I did it we had to accept a return and we made a bit loss sadly (got to feed my kids!) :)

I’ve put the OP in touch with my customer so they can sort out a direct sale. I don’t mind not getting involved. I lose my commission but the seller can sell and the buyer gets their uke.

One can but have a lot of respect for such an action. It kind of goes to support the good things that have already been said about The Uke Room.

Let’s hope for a happy outcome where the buyer and seller sort something out between them in a private sale.

I have contacted Matt's customer via email. Hopefully we can work something out. Very nice gesture indeed, much appreciated!

I have a Ken Timms that I can part with (I have 3 in all).
please email me kerneltime gmail for details.

Hello everyone.

I am interested in buying a Ken Timms. My brother bought me one a while ago and I was attached to it. Unfortunately yesterday I lost it. If anyone is selling one I am happy to discuss a price.
Also, if you have any info about when Ken is preparing more I would very grateful.

I am from UK (Oxford)

Thank you kindly, guys.

It would be hard to sell a Ken Timms without it showing up on a search. If you have the serial number it might be possible to recover it.
Keep checking eBay https://ebay.com/usr/squarepeg_3000
I think he has a batch done and just posted one a few days back. Also, follow this thread https://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/index.php?threads/another-timms-on-ebay.139908/page-9

I have a Ken Timms ukulele for sale, as-new. Message me if interested.
I've put some photos in a Google album here:
It's a vintage Martin style 0 in dark mahogany with 4:1 ratio retro-look pegheads, from 2015.
Condition: as-new, only played a handful of times so zero wear.

I think they are generally undervalued. If I were Ken, I'd double the ticket price.
