Hello again, groceries have been acquired, garbage has been dispatched, veg has been roasted, chicken is roasting. Here is the day 8 recap:
Ten! Ten submissions:
Gerald G with a riveting tale of the result of cabin fever in The Yukon
Joko came back with a song of regret and San Francisco, watch for the pigeons, they are beautiful
Edwin with a Proclaimers tune, thanks, Edwin! You may be the frequent flyer this week
Kevin and Carole H came back to sing about the moonlight in Vermont, so dreamy
Demimondaine submitted another original about the problem with societal expectations in Boston
Lynda brought an original about horseback riding in Northumbria! Horseback riding in Northumbria! I mean...!?!
Jo submitted an original, with Del and Kevin G, about one night in Boulder, go look
Ralf game me 2! One Loretta Lynn tune, thank you, Ralf, about Portland, OR, and a truly odd song about San Francisco, BC, Baja California? British Columbia? Either way, such fantastic lyrics
AND
Sabine crossed the t in Seasons of the ukulele with a Gershwin tune about Limehouse Nights. Bring your opium pipe.
I am utterly thrilled with the 73 submissions I received, and now must ruminate on prizes. What to give, whether to give. I want all of you to come for Thanksgiving. Book your flights NOW. I'll let you know within the next day, but, for now, I intend to digest this wealth of music and see what germinates.
Love to all! Now, if you haven't already, go do a song for Bob in Season 480, tomatoes, anyone? Or, a song you like from a genre you don't, or a song you don't like from a genre you do...happy hunting or word honing!
xoxo, Liz
