Default Takumi Owns LoPrinzi and DaSilva?

I'm looking for some background info on this. Does anyone know when Takumi acquired these brands? Who is building them now? Thanks.

I think it’s more of a marketing consortium. They all market together but I believe they are owned separately and certainly they are built separately.

Kiwaya & Fremont are also under the umbrella of Takumi. I think they are independent subsidiaries or a consortium. But I don't know specifics.

They have all been together for at least 2 years. When I first looked at their website.

Takumi stopped making ukuleles under their brand name in 2019 when their luthier retired.

I'm pretty sure Takumi is just the distributor for LoPrinzi and DaSilva, as well as Kiwaya as mentioned above. Then again, I couldn't tell you where exactly. Japan maybe?

Thanks for the info. Maybe Takumi is just the distributor in Japan.

As far as I know, Loprinzi ukuleles are still built in Clearwater Florida by Donna Loprinzi and her staff. Uke Republic is their main US distributor.

I know Donna. You are correct.
