Lumber is getting hard to find! While I have built a few ukuleles in the past, I'm actually building some non ukulele related items from koa and need some nice slabs. Basically I want some master grade koa that I can cut out 3/4" thick ~6-8" diameter circles from, with a 1" diameter koa rod in the center for a lazy susan type pen stand.

Where should I be looking for the best koa I can find these days?

Thanks

I would look about 20 years ago. If you can't do that try Hearn Hardwoods
https://www.hearnehardwoods.com/

I live close enough to Hearne to get there with a short drive. Was down yesterday getting some Spanish Cedar for necks. Got talking to the owner, who gave me a bit of a tour. All you wood lovers out there - you would not believe the stacks of stuff out in the drying sheds and wood everywhere.
