Recommended fingerstyle books and websites

I learn most my fingerstyle skills from Classical Guitar stuff -- books, articles, and videos.
Especially if you like playing classical and traditional music, Classical Guitar can give pretty much good information.
Caveat: you need to understand the differences between Ukulele and Classical Guitar.

Look for "Pekelo's Hawaiian ukulele method" books, I think there are Level 1 and 2, might be hard to find.

Take a look at (i) Kiyoshi Kobayashi Ukulele Jazz and (ii) Kiyoshi Kobayashi Ukulele Bossa Nova. The songs are very nicely arranged and they are highly recommended on Amazon. Not necessary to know Japanese to play the songs.

This Korean lady plays from these song books beautifully :-

I'm not sure I would single out any one book as best. The Aaron Keim book is very good. I also really like Rob MacKillop's 20 Easy Fingerstyle Studies for Ukulele. Both are great for learners and can help build playing skills. This resource http://ukulele-tabs.com/ is also essential for learning ukulele

Also see Jeff Peterson’s Ukulele Corner website. His books have both tabs and musical notation, for low G ukulele. And on the site, you can watch him perform the pieces in the book. These are my favorite instructional books. Also, the stuff (almost all classical) is a pleasure to play. Ukulelecorner.com

I rather like this one:

Learn to Play Fingerstyle Solos for Ukulele (Mel Bay)

ISBN: 978-0786687213
- has TABs and notes
- good explanations of fingerstyle in the intro
- techniques for each song
- basics of slack key playing

Thanks for the recommendation. Millions of people must have learned by using Mel's books.
