This is the latest in a line of soprano teardrops, based on a vintage Favilla shape, that I've built over the years. It was love at first sight when I first saw an original at a ukulele festival. The owner, at my request, kindly sent me the dimensions, and with the aid of numerous photos found on the web, I drew up what I think are fairly accurate plans.
Up until now I have kept strictly to the original, all mahogany construction, but for this, probably my last in the series, I decided to dress it up by adding bindings, a headstock veneer and inlay, geared tuners and a hand applied design on a spruce top. The neck, back and sides are mahogany.
I started this project a year ago, but due to various circumstances, I have only now strung it up and called it done!

A very beautiful creation. Those inlays are so delicate.

Thank you, Bluesy, for the kind words. I have to admit though, that the hummingbird on the headstock is the only inlay. The other decorations were applied by brush and ink, rather shaky, due to my Parkinson's disease!

Well, that's pretty incredible too. It's all beautiful.
