Do ukulele online stores ever post sales or coupons? Asking for a friend! *cough*

Yeah so I'm totally in love with my AMM3 and I feel like I am actually learning how to play- amazing what a fine quality instrument does for your ear!

Anyway, I want to purchase a middlin' priced concert that I can play while watching videos or just simply noodling... the few in my price limit (less that $200 usd)...so, a coupon or sale would help offset shipping, taxes and if necessary, setup price...do you pay to have a budget ukulele setup?

Looking at Islander, Amahi, Snail, Anuenue and Uma.

Thanks!

I recall several of the online stores having sales during the holiday season. If you want something sooner than that, some stores have outlet sections. And there is of course an active marketplace for used instruments in this forum.

Yes I've been trolling sites and checking on the "blem" lists etc., maybe something will catch my eye here in the forum!

The Ukulele Site has sales sometimes. Just sign up for their mailing list and follow them on whatever social media you prefer (if any) to get alerted when they do.

And to answer your other question, I get all of my ukes set up, especially the budget ones.

Great idea! After several days and false starts and stops I just ordered the Anuenue color series. The sound samples for that ukulele are simply stellar and the price point is perfect!

Edit: Initially recommended ULTP but had to remove the message... what seemed like good deals turned into a nightmare

I live in Canada, we don't have much beyond Kala and dubious no-name brands unfortunately, so I've done a lot of online browsing.
I've bought from Thomann (Risa ST, much cheaper in Europe and Thomann shipping/service were actually great). They don't do sales I think, but depending on what you're looking for, it's a great deal. Flight very cheap on there too. Granted it's a not an ukulele specialist and I'm not sure they do setups, but for some things it's worth a look. Many Japanese brands are much much cheaper there as well.

I've now purchased twice from Uke Like The Pros, really good experience both times. They had a father's day sale of 20% off all ukuleles under 500$. Don't take the regular 'On Sale' tags into account, those are just permanent things and a bit annoying to me. I was looking for a specific type of look in a Kala Ziricote and the guy in the warehouse took some photos for me. Some of the add-ons are overpriced (such as tuning pegs) but I just wanted the instrument with no setup.
Then this month I pulled the plug on a Kanile'a K-1 Baritone, no setup. They had a 4th of July? sale of 10% off everything. Also got free international shipping since it was a big purchase. That was too good to pass up for me when TheUkuleleSite would charge me 100-150$ shipping, 90$? because of the mother of pearl in inlays, and no 10% off. I would like to get an opportunity to order from them one day though and get their setup.
Long story short ULTP have lots of sales, too many to be honest, certainly too many promo emails. But great deals. Regarding setup I think budget instruments would actually benefit most from it.

Thanks! I'm in the U.S and there are lots of brands that are "across the pond"; honestly there are an unbelievable number of ukulele brands that the more one looks, the more uncertain one becomes. I just purchased a sweet little concert for a modest price from HMS and I'm chill.
Shipping is such a bummer!

Mim includes a setup with every uke she sells. That's why she can only sell so many ukes a week. She's a one person operation. She has to do setups on every one. Pack them and ship.

Then she unpacks and photographs all of the new ukes that come in.

Tried to send you a PM on this, but learned you weren't accepting them.
I have an Islander for sale that's right in your price range. I had it on Marketplace a while back. It was purchased from HMS with a full setup. Another forum member backed out of the sale (for a more expensive uke), so it's still boxed and ready to go. If your interested, send me a PM and I'll reply with an email address and the full description. FWIW, it's the first uke that convinced me that the Concert size was for me, and the Kanile'a string spacing is a match as well. Lemme know :)
