My daughter had a loaner ukulele in the house for months, and it finally worked its spell on us around six weeks ago. First I started playing it and then ordered a Waverly Street concert. Then my teenage daughter got started. She got a Mainland mahogany concert on Christmas day. We both love both of them.

The other instrument I play is clawhammer banjo. I love oldtime jams and hope to take my ukulele to a jam soon. Does anyone else out there play oldtime?

Welcome.
Glad to hear that your interest in playing ukes is shared by your family.
Alot of folks here (including me) play the oldtime songs, or classics.
I think it's a law evey uke player must learn 5'2". :)

Welcome to the Underground.

Hi and welcome to UU. I love hearing how you jam with your daughter. I am about to order 2 Makala dolphins for my 6 yo and 2 yo daughters for the 2 yo's b-day. They are probably a little young to start learning but they love to just strum with reckless abandonment and what a great site that is to see. Happy Strumming.

Aloha, welcome to UU. The more ukulele players under one roof, the better. You'll learn from each other. This is the site to start your journey, have fun.
