Guting shows how he made a pickup for low-dough from easy to find items at Radio Shack.

Hope this helps -- have fun!

I've used an external pickup called The Cap (AGT 100) for other instruments. Made by EPM. It sticks on with some putty adhesive (Hold It is what I use). Easily removed or moved to different spots on the instrument. Short cord though. But effective.

K&K sound is a good company that sells transducers suitable for all types of instruments.

Schaller Oyster pickup can be mounted externally or on the inside of the soundboard but is removable, at the shop where I work only $50 (Australian) - assume it would be about the same in the States (happy to post it to you though).
