Avoid dull sounding ukes at all costs!!!

Screwed to the inner blocks on front and back. only necessary if wood is thin for resonance...
 
Didn't someone just post something like this on a Martin? That one looked more like a wire cage.
 
The one on the Martin is commercially available, and is called a Tone Gard. It does not screw on, but clamps on instead.
 
Nice solution to the body muting problem. I always noticed how much louder the uke sounds when played away from my body, like when I am sitting and it sits halfway out on my leg. I knew someone would come up with a variation on the Tone Gard cage. They don't seem to offer them for ukes, unless you ask for a custom one. Your design looks like it could fit a greater range of uke models.
