So we've got a pet peeves thread, which is good because everyone needs a place to get off their chest the things that really bug them. But I feel that we also need a place to say and share all the (random) things we like, and maybe find that other people also like those same (random) things. So here's my short list:

I like flying kites.
I like folding paper cranes out of every random piece of paper I can find.
I like swinging in hammocks.
I like reading really good books at 2 am.
I like exploring abandoned buildings.
I like riding horses in the snow.
I like drinking out of straws.

:D

anyone?

My husband - he lets me get away with so much lol
Animals, especially dogs, birds and wild animals
Aimless surfing the net
Hot chocolate
VS cheeky boyshorts
My space heater
Almond Joy's
Tropicana extra pulp OJ
Camping
Sailing
Fishing
Lost (tv)
Bones (tv)
Google Voice
My UU friends

Skipping the obvious, my family, etc... my simple pleasures:

I like hats.
I like beer.
I like babies.
I like children too, but if I put it like that it sounds creepy... Totally not what I meant.
I like my Jeep.
I like looking like a bum because I can get away with it.
I like tofu.
I like simplicity.
I like the quiet.
I like islands.
I like Chinese food.
I like all food, really.
I like Kurt Vonnegut.
I like Celebrex (which is doing me so much good right now).
I like cats.
I like the Folger Theatre in Washington, DC. Even though I've only been once. I'm dying to go again.
I like Nintendo DS.
I like the smell of laundry soap.

You know what I like? Well, lots of stuff. But right now I like dog sitting -- especially Golden Retrievers.

Peanut butter

Paperboy caps worn backwards.
Sock monkies.

(And the obvious, etc. etc.)

Beer
Cheese
Ukuleles

Women
Kids

No particular order, or ukuleles would move up at least one place.

I like:

Hanging out with my wife. She really is my best friend.
Baseball, from T-ball to the bigs.
The "Emerging Church" approach to theology
Antique German steins
Tagless t-shirts
Complaining about high school basketball referees
Red wine

Have a great morning. I'm going to go do #1 on this list.

I like:

-Crisp, clear sunny blue sky days where you can wear a sweatshirt and Ugg boots, and see the snow on the mountains -- in LA, we get maybe 5 of those a year.
-Driving with the top down on my car on a smogless, warm day, when it isn't too hot for a convertible, or too cold. In LA, we get maybe 5 of those as well.
-Cheering for the Boston Red Sox and USC Trojans, particularly when the beat the NY Yankees or the UCLA Bruins.
-When my hard to get cat Creampuff licks me or nuzzles me -- believe me, that is victory.
-When I can finally play a song that has been kicking my butt for a while.
-When the numbers on the scale go down (as opposed to staying flat or going up).
-Opening the first Christmas present.
-My homemade chocolate chip cookies.
-The frozen mai tais at Keoki's in Kauai and the blended margaritas at El Cholo's in LA.
-A cold rainy day witha warm fuzzy blanket, a cup of cocoa or coffee, and the needy cat on my lap while I watch new episodes of Dexter and Lost.
-Singing out loud to disco music with the windows rolled up on my car. Hey, why do you think I make sure the windows are rolled up? It is a guilty pleasure. Try it.
-A hug from someone I love.
-My iPhone.
-Finding money I forgot about in the pocket of a jacket or jeans.
-My old childhood teddy bears that I can't "bear" to throw away.
-My mom's waffles. I make her make them every year on my birthday.
-Listening to waves crash against a rocky shore.
-My ukuleles, particularly the KoAloha and Kamaka.

I second that.

I like:
-Finding money I forgot about in the pocket of a jacket or jeans.

I concur. This usually makes my whole week.
