Did ya get some sleep?

More like a nap he he he. I don't know what's up with me. I woke up cause my knees are all of the sudden acting up. Then went to the girlfriends house before she had to work. Now I am hyped up and feel like a nice long hike. So much for the knees hurting me. Hope this means I'll sleep like a baby later on.

I know this is such a newbie question, but what do the "p"s and "h"s in the tab mean?

p = pull-off

h = hammer-on

In both cases, the note in question is not plucked, you either "pull" your finger off the string (often a bit sideways for more volume) or you "hammer" your finger onto the note so that it sounds on its own.

If it were a wind instrument, these would be considered slurs, e.g., you don't tongue the note, just as you don't pluck it on the uke.

Hope that makes sense. :)

Sorry for the newbness again, but is there any way to see the timing of the different notes? Do I count all the little lines between them or something?

Not really. With plain text (ASCII) tabs, you often basically have to know the melody/rhythm for it to make sense. Sometimes you can get the gist of it by spacing and the number of notes in a designated measure, but not always.
