Baritone lovers

Brand new Oscar Schmidt OU53 baritone in the Hawaii craigslist for $135.00
MSRP...says $269.00...

I have a Oscar Schmidt OU55CE:

MSRP says $469.99, but most places sell it for about half that price (try Instrumentalley.com).

Compared to other baritones I used, the tone is not as loud and projected. It's on the mellow side, and the tension is quite low, even with Aquila baritone strings.
It has a good, balanced sound, but not very loud.

Great as an electric though, and looks so pretty

That's the same problem I had with my laminate Koa OU5, muffled sound but tone was allright...I thought I received a lemon
from buying on-line. So I guess I'm not the only one....but I really like my OU3 it has volume and tone, totally 180 from OU5.

I love the baritone and find it an easy switch moving over from guitar, especially when I have been playing nylon string. I have an Oceana baritone--a little known make--which at the time was handcrafted in Ecuador. The top is Western Red Cedar, back and sides Ecuadorian Black Cherry, fretboard Panamanian Redwood, and headstock also Black Cherry. I will try to give you a photobucket link:
