Drop down menus blocked by banner ads

I had the same problem to fix it press the compatibility view button. It is located at the top of the screen next to the web address bar on the right and to the left of the refresh button. It looks like a sheet of paper ripped in two. I hope that helps! (sorry im bad at explaining things!!)
