Hi all...

I'm looking for an early Kamaka Pineapple--white or blue label....

Ones needing extensive repair might be just fine, as I can fix them...
Trashed tops, etc.

What have U?
Also looking for a vintage case for an old Pineapple...

OK, thanks!

Aloha Spruce,
SuzukHammer, I thnk he's looking for a -early 30's Kamaka pineapple.
There's one on e-bay...Kinda high priced and beat up...$880.00 and needs alot of work.
However this one has rope designs...
Good Luck, I hope this helps....MM Stan...

hi spruce,

if you go here:

www.ukuleleguy.com

then click on the "Kamaka" brand ukes tag on the RHS of the page, you'll see a few there. One absolute ripper from early 30's with rope bindings and the pineapple decal still intact...

This one is exactly what I'm looking for, except that I just bought this one for 600 bucks, so I figure the former is a 250.00 deal, and not the 900.00+ that is being asked...

Man, these things are all over the board, aren't they?? ;)

they sure are. Quite frankly I'm totally confused with the way vintage Kamaka's are priced...there's nothing consistent about it at all...600 sounds like a great price for the one you bought, it's beautiful.

I played it non-stop last evening....
It's just a great instrument, frets accurately (more than you can say for some vintage ukes), and sounds fabulous...

BTW, here's pics of the Kamaka tour I took a couple months ago....
That's where I picked up the Pineapple Bug...
I'm sure a lot of you have taken that same tour.... ;-)

Well, another Pineapple just showed up on CL...
Here tis...

That thing is even more hammered than the others...
The soundhole is trashed, cracks on both front and back leaking air, and a trashed label...

These folks must stumble onto this one, and figure they've struck gold??

Weird weird weird...

Here's the one I just picked up:

Can't put it down....
