I wonder which one should i choose ibanez Ukc10 or lanikai lu-21c. The ibanez is with the aquila strings also so which one should i get ?

Lanikai , I have an ibanez soprano and a lanikai tenor. The lanikai is a better make , lighter , sounds great and looks fantastic.

My lanikai is also $200 more expensive though keen in mind lol

Lanikai makes a great entry level ukulele. They also come strung with aquila strings so no need to switch the strings out right away with the LU-21 series.

I second what Sambient Said....for sure...some good advice....MM Stan...

I've never played an Ibanez uke (have played several of their guitars) but have read several mixed reviews. My vote would be for the Lanikai, I have an LU-21c and it's my favorite go any where uke. I also have an O8-E and just love it, I have yet to play a Lanikai that I was dissapointed with.

I have never been a big fan of Lanikai. If you tap the sound board with a tuning fork it goes pretty dead about an inch or so around the bridge. I don't know maybe it is the glue they use? They also sound just a little tiney to me. Ibanez also has some isues, go high end or leave them alone.

Have you considered a Kala? They are making some good stuff.

Aloha xhuyxm,
Is this your first ukulele???if so the lanikai is an excellent choice for an entry level starter ....to see if you're going to stick with and not spend too much money if you decide to quit...

I agree. They both have issues, but in my opnion Lanikai has less. Go with the Lanikai.

Lanikai is more specialised at making ukes than Ibanez.
I've tried some Lanikai's before - great ukes.

Haven't tried Ibanez, but I hear mixed things. Some love them, others don't really like them.
Personally I think Ibanez are more "cool" in their designs and the brandname though :) So go with your heart.

There's no need to base uke choice on what strings they come with. Replacing to the strings you like is a simple matter.
Even if a uke comes brand new with Aquilas, you may want to replace strings anyway, because the strings may be old and stretched.

Lanikai!! Just change the strings if you want Aquilas. :)
