I actually bought my first uke at East Village Music, and there was a chip on the uke. The owner kept on making excuses and wouldn't let me exchange for another one or get my refund back.

I'm in Sunnyside Queens. What about that snowstorm?! This meetup grouphttp://www.meetup.com/NYCUkuleleJam/ is a great way to meet ukulele players in the city.
I'll second (or by now its 'third') the Meetup. I just went for the first time last month and it was a GREAT time. Next one is in two weeks, January 7th. Perhaps I'll see you there.
