Favorite movie scores?

My favorite movie scores are as follows, but not in any order:

Taxi Driver theme from Bernard Herrmann
all the songs from 2001 a space odyssey
Tough to not like the songs in Apocalypse Now, though they were rock songs before the movie.

just to name a few.

Schindler's List

The music in The Graduate changed my life-, as did An American in Paris, but more the film than the score.
American Graffitti
ET is good, but doesn't contain the best track- Across the Moon that I used to have on 45- at least mine doesn't

My own score is pretty darn awesome but I couldn't sell the script to "The Hearpe"-

Sorry for the thread dredge.

Superfly-Curtis Mayfield
Shaft-Isaac Hayes

Both of these movies have iconic theme songs, but the rest of the scores are filled with wonderful songs.

On another day I may have said "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" but I'm fickle.
Today I'm leaning toward the Giorgio Moroder release of "Metropolis".

What a great thread to resurrect!

In no particular order:

The Descendents
Doctor Zhivago
Immortal Beloved
Inside Llewyn Davis

I like most of the previously mentioned sound tracks, but I am enjoying the sound track from Suicide Squad. I like the different takes on You Don't Own Me, Bohemian Rhapsody and I Started a Joke particularly. As a whole, I like the entire collection. The movie, eh!

This has got to be up amongst the most beautiful haunting sound tracks for a movie ever Miklos Rozas music used for the film The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes , sends goose bumps when i hear it , this a link to the Violin part .

My favourite movie is Star Wars. "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." ;)

I'd say Backdraft & Labyrinth.

The Piano (Michael Nyman)
Grizzly Man (Richard Thompson)

Top Bottom
