    Default humming softing before singing

I just received a tip from my mom who teaches voice and singing for a living. If you hum the words to the melody of a song quietly, you'll get the chances of singing it right on cue. I tried this to a hymn at my church one time and it actually works.

Interesting. I will have to try that. What if you hum off tune?

That's the best thing about it. You can correct yourself before a performance.

When you're humming a song, no one cares if you're humming off-key or not. It's just practice for a performance or not.
