I can see having a CNC router setup as I would like to make a series of ukes with the same inlays. I would be using this for cutting shell and wood for inlay as well as cutting the channels. Are those CNC setups I see on Ebay for $600 up to that task?

Second Question, I am not at all interested in learning or drawing with CAD. I would like to draw my inlays by hand and scan the drawings for the CNC cuts. Is that doable?

Yes! it can be done that way with scanning...and those machines can do it.. up to now, i've built 4 CNC machines and they are all up and running ..but I still can't operate one.....Editing G-Codes M-codes ...DFX files and learning CAD (you still need CAD type programs to download the scans)..all this gave me brain ache..But! thats just me.
So best of luck
