Ukulele Artists/Bands

u900 is a japanese ukulele duo... can't wait for their aNueNue ukes that are coming out ^_^

If you can provide a URL (YT, FB, Home Page) for the artist, It would be very much appreciated. I wanna provide a link associated with the artist/group/band. For example: Aldrine Guerrerro (his YT is ukuleleoversoul), when you click on his name, it'll take you to his YT page. Please have a little patience so I can get this list together.

Benny Chong. Doesn't have his own channel but here is a sample of what he can do.

Check out the use of the thumb for impossible fretboard spanning chord grips. Happens for the first time about 30 seconds in.
There's a brief bio on My Space here: http://www.myspace.com/ukulelejazz

Also Peter Moon's son, Peter Moon, Jr., is a player. He takes a solo at about the 1:30 mark here:

and accompanies Cyril Pahinui in numerous appearances here:

OK, me 2... see below YouTube link. I play uke in a calypso band for some reason. Dig thru the uploads for live, studio, and demo versions of stuff, as well as things like me playing Beethoven on piano with my butt for an ukulele contest here... Don't ask...

Since I suggested Benny Chong, I would be remiss not to add Byron Yasui and Gordon Mark.

To say that the influence of these three on Jake S. was HUGE, would be an understatement.

Here's Byron: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUdfPCVqVMI
Byron with Benny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzWJA_q9qdg
Byron with Benny and Bryan Tolentino:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HZ_CLnd8lU
(bonus on the last one Chris Kamaka on bass, Jake behind them and joining tuning conversation,
and a glimpse of a very young Taimane Gardner)

Gordon Mark accompanying Pops Ko'Aloha: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afycdBOyqVs

Jason Arimoto** didn't migrate to the new list.

Troy's on the list, but not his bands. Ka'au Crater Boys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA9thAbRndk and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMNuXIgcx6Y and the legendary epic Hot Hawaiian Nights show

Palolo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PiNzdC0H0Q I'll bet Troy, Nathan, and Chino (TNC)
all appreciate the slimming effect of this one.
