Default Sam's New and First Ukulele

I went out to the local Sam Ash to look around and ran into a good friend of my wife and her son Sam. Sam is about 12 years old and has been taking guitar lessons for a while now. He has heard me play ukulele and wanted to get one so that was why they there.

I helped Sam pick out a Makala laminated mahogany soprano ukulele. He liked the looks of it a lot. They had 5 of them hanging on the wall so we picked out a good one and bought a set of Aquilas. I told Sam I would follow him home and change the strings out for him.

We went to their house and changed the factory strings out with the Aquilas. Whoa...!!! It sounded great for only $40. and, in my humble opinion, blows the newer Martin S1s completely out of the water...!!! Wowee, did it sound good...!!!

Sam was beaming when I left to go home.

Yes. My set up Kala KA-S, cousin of the Makala, sounds awesome! I put a synthetic bone saddle on it and it's even better!
