Hi UU guys, someone actually compared side by side, the new Martin S-1 with the "new-old" Martin S-O? I have a Martin S-O made a few years ago, and I think the sound on it is very good, and scale with 12 frets is a more "vintage" that the new S-1 scale with 17 frets (it seemed awkward to me).
I saw some reviews of the Martin S-1, but nothing impressed me.
For an example, the corian nut and black micarta saddle in the S-O model only seems so hard and resonant as the bone of the S-1, and looks more like an "really-old" Martin 0, from 1930.
Over time, the Model S-O may have more valuation for having stopped production?
Anyway, the only difference is personal, or the volume was really higher with the new S-1 "top braces" made with solid sitka spruce, and the new junction of the neck?
