It's wood! Any natural material will have inclusions if you look hard enough. Relax.

Sometimes I see a pin knot and say to myself... that's gotta go into the uke somewhere. Adds interest. I actually cut end grafts and headstock veneer sometimes making sure I get the knot worked in. But then I'm from Nashville...

I agree- I almost always try to include stuff like that. most of the time, a little sawdust and CA glue will fill it in.

The others have said as much, but I'll chime in as well. It's not plastic laminate. It's wood and should look like wood. Fill it with CA and move on.

That pin knot is effectively 'figure'. That increases the price.

As a user rather than a builder I would expect a handmade instrument to have character. A small "feature" like that would not put me off in the slightest.

    It's-a knot. OK?

Sorry for the mangled Italian-English there...

    Not!

I have a custom six-string tenor that has a knot on each side in the same place, right on the lower bout. I think it's awesome!
