I'm getting ready for my first build, probably a tenor or concert.
And I am wondering about a starting point for top/back thickness.
I am going to use the siminoff tap tuning method that I have been happy with for guitar building. It will be an all koa, unfigured build except I have the option of a sitka, adi, or WR cedar top.
as much as I love the look of the koa tops, I assumber it would not be as bright a sound.
cheers

Yes, cedar is not as strong or dense so it needs to be a bit thicker. My plates are in the .070's". and like Rick said... consider your bracing pattern.
