Hello!
See my last home made uke.
16" scale (between concert and tenor), compact body.
Flamed bookmatched maple top, mangoo sides and back.
Cedar neck.
Enjoy.
Gerard.
He, he, he...
Yes, most recent.
Mezzo soprano (sort of beefy soprano), all mahogany wood
is in progress.
Beguining story (sorry, in french) with drawing here: http://www.ukulele.fr/forum/index.php?topic=12120.0
And thank's for comments.
Gerard.
Thank's for words, folks.
I'll put several better pics these following days.
This hibiscus uke have a very mellow sound, relatively strong,
clear but not like an all koa body uke.
Strings are Savarez Alliance tenor.
Perhaps not the better to go with these woods body.
Think about Aquila new nilgut.
So, I have several drawings ready, and enough wood at home to do 3 or 4 ukes in 2012...
Bye,
Gerard
Wow! Even with the language barrier, I can see that you are a perfectionist & an artist with woods. When you can, please give us a taste of the sound(sound sample?)
