Default Tarnish or Patina on Frets?

Over the past year I noticed I have 1 uke (a Mya-Moe) that has developed what I'm calling tarnish or patina on all the frets. (Kind of tea stain/bronze/brass color). They started out silvery colored. I assume there must be some silver in the alloy. I thought all frets would be stainless steel. I don't think it is a problem, but it is the only uke I have that has frets that tarnish. It's just a year old and treated well (cased and humidified, when needed). The bronze tinted frets actually look good on the uke.

Any other Mya-Moe owners have these kind of frets?

Is this type of fret a feature some luthiers like to use?

I can't speak as to Mya Moe frets, but my Kamaka frets have a green tint to them on the edge. I tried getting it off with steel wool but didn't have any luck. That is interesting though, I've never seen frets go bronze.

When I changed strings last (too long - 6 months ago). I noticed the tarnish and used steel wool and Howards Feed and Wax. They cleaned right up and were silvery again. But time passed and they are bronze-like all over again, it is pretty uniform. Kind of cool looking with the darker fret. Haven't noticed any tarnish transferring to my fingers.

    Here is a better image.
