My brother got a new tenor last week, it is strung with Aquilas.
The C string resonates perfectly when open, but fretted (anywhere) is sounds dull. It does not buzz, just sound dull. I'm guessing it can't be the string itself since it is fine when played open. The strings have been adequately stretched.
Any ideas?
