Song Help Request One by U2, or Johnny Cash version

Anybody have a good version that incorporates some picking and strumming for this great song? Johnny's version might be more suitable for a uke, but I'll take what I can get. I am looking for regular C tuning, not a low G.

Well, I play it using this chord sequence.

Am - D - F - G (repeats)

then

C - Am - F - C

You can fiddle around with the melody while running thru the sequences.

Lovely song!

Yeah, that's what I use too, and I've been playing around with different strums, but I'd love to be able to pick the intro and maybe some bridge type picking too. Any thoughts? The chords seem accurate but inadequate for the song.
