Any uke event/open mic in Chicago in May-June, 2012?

Hi.
I'm going to Chicago from 30/May to 5/June for work.
Not sure how much free time I have, but I'd love to see uke community there, play together and/or in open mic.

If you know any events or how to search, please let me know.

Only about a 5 hour drive from Chicago to the UWC

Our group, CHUG, doesn't meet over those dates. Most of us will be at UWC.

There are scads of open mikes in Chicago, but none that I know of that are ukulele-centric. Check http://openmikes.org/ for more. If you want specifics on any one of them, ask me. I might know what it's like.

There's an uke group that meets every Thursday, just a little bit outside of town. They're called the Harrison Street Ukulele Players.

You can also join the Chicago Ukulele Cabaret group on Facebook and ask if they know of anything uke-centric going on while you're in town.

Harrison Street Players

On Thursday the 31st, the Harrison Street Players will be at East Gate Cafe in Oak Park from 7-9pm , playing and singing. On Sunday June 2, we will be at Scoville Park at Lake and Oak Park Ave. to open " A Day In Our Village" with the Star Spangled Banner. Guests are welcome and encouraged.
